Young people spend more than 5 hours a day in front of screens, Arcom sounds the alarm

This Thursday, April 3, Arcom (Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority) published a comprehensive study on the audio-video trends of 2025, the results of which are deeply worrying among the youngest.

Indeed, according to the Arcom study, 90% of French people still watch so-called "linear" television, that is, traditional television channels. We also learned that more than 75% of French people use subscriptions to watch television programs, with a budget of nearly 20 euros per month.

According to Arcom, 70% of French people use social networks to watch video content. With video formats multiplying on Instagram, TikTok, or even more recently on YouTube with Shorts which have just evolved, all signs show that screen addiction could increase in the years to come...
