This smartphone promises to break all battery life records and it's coming next week

Honor is preparing to unveil a new generation of smartphones that feature unprecedented battery technology, delivering a capacity of 8,000 mAh in a classic format. A true revolution that promises to break new battery life records – in a segment where brands are increasingly opting for gains based on the fineness of chip engraving.

This smartphone promises to break all battery life records and it's coming next week

The Honor brand promises a real feat in terms of battery life with its upcoming launch. Next week, the manufacturer is expected to unveil a new range of mid-range smartphones. Branded with the “Power” name, these are expected to be the first on the market to offer an 8,000 mAh battery – in a format that won't make them look like a “tank.”

The innovation is the result of a breakthrough in battery chemistry. The element relies on more silicon, the percentage of which increases to around 15%, in tandem with carbon. Silicon allows for a tenfold increase in storage density compared to lithium. This allows for a compact format while increasing capacity.

Honor could be the first brand in the world to offer 8,000 mAh in a smartphone

The leaker Digital Chat Station, cited by our colleagues at PhoneArena, claims that the new smartphones will offer, in addition to this new-generation battery, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. This suggests that the brand intends to launch the device in other markets such as Europe, after its launch in China.

Beyond that, the Honor Power should offer a vast AMOLED screen on the front with ultra-thin borders – all dotted with an elongated punch-hole like Dynamic Island. With this new Power range, Honor could well be the first smartphone brand to offer a mainstream device with such a capacity. This should allow for much more autonomy – which will undoubtedly be, moreover, its main selling point.

The manufacturer was expected to be quickly overtaken by the competition. OnePlus, Oppo, and Realme are known to be working on devices that will also feature 8,000 mAh. Currently, the segment record is around 7,000 mAh. The device is scheduled to launch in China next week, on April 15, 2025. We'll likely have to wait a few days or weeks to find out when the new devices will arrive internationally.
