The Last of Us Season 2: How Long is Each Episode?

The Last of Us series is getting a lot of buzz right now, and for good reason: Season 2 is coming this April 14th on HBO Max. Many mysteries remain to be solved regarding the adaptation of the second video game in the eponymous franchise. Some of the questions we've been asking ourselves are slowly being answered. If you were wondering how long each episode would be, here's what it is.

Two years ago, the topic was at the heart of some debates, with episodes lasting almost an hour and a half. More than a series, it was the length of several films put end to end that had to be watched. Know that this will absolutely not be the case with this season 2. A user on Reddit (ViewerAnon) claimed to have all the durations of each episode and shared them with us. He declares:

The roller coaster of thrills

So, the episodes to Will the upcoming episodes be as long as the previous season? Surprisingly, the answer is no. Not only will Season 2 have two fewer episodes, but they will also be almost all shorter. In total, Season 2 will last approximately 6 hours and 20 minutes, while Season 1 promised us over 8 hours of content. This is partly due to the second game being split into two separate seasons, while The Last of Us Part I and its DLC only got one season.

The Last of Us Part II is a much denser and longer game, with a total of between 25 and 30 hours of gameplay. If season 3 turns out to be the same length, it means that the showrunners will have managed to halve the action time. Remember that the broadcast duration is therefore 7 weeks and that the final episode will be available on June 2. Don't hesitate to find out where and how to watch season 2 of The Last of Us, as well as the cult scenes that the series cannot miss.
