The handmaid’s tale season 6: where and when to watch the grand finale?

The handmaid’s tale season 6: where and when to watch the grand finale?

Since its launch in 2017 in the United States, The Handmaid’s Tale has benefited from OCS’s strength to invest in French territory. At the time, the channel package benefited from a partnership with HBO and Sony Pictures Television and thus gained exclusive rights to small-screen monsters, such as Game of Thrones and Westworld. It is also widely known for having brought The Walking Dead to France, purchased from AMC in 2011. Among the productions that have made OCS’s reputation, The Handmaid’s Tale holds a high place. All seasons benefited from a US+24 broadcast, enough to offer dystopian fans early access to the new adventures of June Osborn. But OCS changed hands, the replay platform disappeared in favor of a tab in the interface of another entertainment giant in France.

After the disappearance of HBO programs from its service, Orange decided to sell its bouquet as well as Orange Studio. The Warner Bros. Discovery, Sky and Mediwan groups expressed their interest, but it was ultimately Canal+ that acquired Orange Ciné Série. Its catalog was quickly integrated into the interface of the Vivendi subsidiary. The URL was deactivated and OCS became a MyCanal destination and a channel included in the bouquet offered by the encrypted channel. For the launch of this new season, it will therefore be directly via Canal+ that it will be possible to discover the episodes that make up the final chapter. Although The Handmaid’s Tale is a creation of MGM Television (Amazon) and Hulu (Walt Disney Company), the contract that bound the two entities to OCS still stands.

When is it coming?

A few weeks ago, Hulu officially announced the upcoming arrival of The Handmaid’s Tale in its catalog. On April 8, three new episodes will be offered to viewers. The French release date, however, remained a mystery. Canal+ has just officially announced the return of the adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s works for the same day. Subscribers will thus be able to discover the launch of this batch of episodes at the same time as the United States. Good news for those who want to avoid spoilers at all costs. After this first three-episode series, we will have to count on one chapter per week until the series concludes seven weeks later. May 27 will therefore mark the series' final appearance on our screens.

How many episodes?

While the first three seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale included 13 episodes, the series has scaled back its ambitions for the fourth. From now on, ten chapters will be offered, a format more in line with what productions of the genre offer. We also know the titles of all the episodes, and some give important clues about the narrative. The opening should pick up exactly where we left off.

Named “Train”, the first episode of season 4 should immerse viewers alongside June and Serena. The two characters fled Toronto aboard a train, each with their child in their arms. Gilead had sent an assassin after June, while Commander Waterford’s widow had been placed in a Canadian home to live as a servant. Will the two enemies have to collaborate?

The first images showed Serena in a bride-to-be outfit while June tried to infiltrate Gilead to find Hannah. Meanwhile, Luke is in the hands of justice after defending his wife from the henchmen of the totalitarian regiment. Nick appears briefly, the series cultivating the mystery surrounding his true allegiance. So, tune in on April 8th to find out if the finale will live up to audience expectations.
