Superman: James Gunn's film offers itself an adorable extract!

The dog is man's best friend... and that of superheroes! Since the release of James Gunn's Superman trailer last year, an animal has been stealing the show from Clark Kent. As the director's love for our four-legged friends might suggest, Krypto will be an essential component of this new adaptation of the adventures of the son of Krypton. He is at the epicenter of a new clip, shared this Thursday, April 3 on YouTube. He was presented Earlier this week, the general public can finally lay their eyes on these four new minutes.

We find Superman in a bad state. Injured in the middle of a snowy setting, the vigilante calls on Krypto to help him reach the Fortress of Solitude. The interaction is rather amusing. Then, we can see the imposing ice structure that houses Clark's lair. Here, there is no floating head of Jor-El, but rather caring automatons. They carry him to a medical station.

Thanks to the yellow sun, and a magnifying glass to amplify its effects, the hero regains his strength. The most attentive will have noticed that the original music takes advantage of this return to life to draw inspiration from the emblematic themes of John Williams composed for the needs of the film carried by Christopher Reeve. Moreover, we find essentially the same images as for the first trailer.

Colorful, funny and...

James Gunn is expected to turn the corner. After the rather chaotic journey of the DCEU which began with Man of Steel in 2013, Warner Bros hopes to finally have the superhero license it has dreamed of for over a decade. The director, who will immortalize David Corenswet as the legendary character, also serves as president of DC Studios with Peter Safran. While they have promised to offer a lot of freedom to the directors who will evolve under the DC umbrella in the coming years, Superman serves as a foreword for this DCU under construction.

The approach to the film will determine the path taken by the next ones, laying the first stones of an edifice that the company hopes to build over several years. The stakes are high, DC wants to take advantage of its rival's loss of momentum to establish itself as king of the box office. A rivalry that is barely disguised, since Warner Bros. chose to offer this extract a few minutes before the Disney conference at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, while the other superhero blockbuster of the summer is due to be presented there. So who, Fantastic Four or Superman, will be the big winner? War has been declared and all is fair.
