Proton VPN has a new look. The app is available in a new version with a more modern, more fluid design, with new features that improve the user experience.
Renowned for its security and for its strictest privacy policy, Proton VPN combines business with pleasure and is carrying out a complete redesign of its app. It adopts a new minimalist look, more modern, with new icons. It also introduces new features, including handy customization options that make the experience more dynamic.
Proton VPN redesign: what's new?
Rolled out on the Android version of Proton VPN a few months ago, this redesign is now coming to Windows and iOS. You can therefore find it in the latest version of the application on PC, iPhone and Android.
New home screen
The changes can be seen from the home screen, which is more compact, with a predominance of two colors: gray and green. The interface is also better organized to facilitate access to favorite locations, while emphasizing customization and quick access to important settings.
On the right side of the Windows version's home screen, you have a column for quick access to some settings: Kill Switch, Port-forwarding, Split Tunneling and more.
Customized profiles
Proton VPN now offers several default profiles. Depending on the type of use you want to make of the VPN, these profiles allow you to connect more quickly, with the appropriate settings for a better experience.
You have the following profiles: US Streaming to access the American Netflix catalog for example; Video Games to choose optimized servers; Anti-censorship to bypass geolocation restrictions. You can also opt for a Maximum Security profile (via Secure Core), P2P or even Work/School.
Of course, Proton VPN allows you to add and modify personalized profiles based on your specific uses.
Widgets on Android and iOS
This is one of the most practical new features of the new version of Proton VPN. On smartphones, you can now add a widget to the main screen of Android or iOS and adjust the size to fit the available space.
The Widget allows you to connect more quickly with one click, without having to open the application. You can also disconnect in the same way.
Proton VPN: Advanced Privacy Protection
Most users use a VPN to protect their privacy or to enjoy a freer internet. When it comes to security, Proton VPN is one of the most reliable applications on the market. This solution is published by Proton AG, a company based in the Netherlands, a country known for its intransigence on privacy issues.
