Acer is expanding its Predator range of gaming monitors with two new models, the X32 X2 and X27U X1. Designed by the manufacturer for "professional gamers or gaming enthusiasts", these two QD-OLED monitors, measuring 31.5 inches (with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels) and 26.5 inches (2560 x 1440 pixels), actually boast some attractive features.
QD-OLED for gamers who don't want a giant screen
The refresh rate - dynamic - can thus reach 240 Hz, the Predator X27U X1 and X32 X2 benefiting from AMD FreeSync Premium Pro compatibility. Nvidia's G-Sync technology also appears to be supported, although Acer doesn't explicitly state this.
Both models also benefit from a grayscale response time of grayscale of only 0.03 ms and a virtually infinite contrast ratio (officially 1,500,000:1), OLED technology requires. The brightness reaches 250 cd/m² in SDR mode, but can climb to 1,000 cd/m² in HDR. These two Predators are also DisplayHDR 400 certified and cover 99% of the DCI-P3 color space.
Each of these two screens has two HDMI 2.1 inputs and a DisplayPort 1.4 port, as well as two integrated speakers (2x2W for the X32 X2, 2x5W for the second model). No USB hub is present, however. The Predator X27U X1 and X32 X2 are finally equipped with an ergonomic stand that can be adjusted in tilt, rotation, and height.
QD-OLED technology, however, remains expensive: the Predator X27U X1 is expected in June starting at 699 euros, while you will have to pay 1199 euros to acquire the X32 X2, which will appear on the market next August.
