Oppo made its big comeback on the French market last year. The Chinese brand has big ambitions, whether in the fields of smartphones, headphones, or smartwatches. Its latest model, the Watch X, is a cousin of the OnePlus Watch 2, and this is not surprising. Indeed, the two brands belong to the same group, and Oppo hopes to take advantage of this position to shine against Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi.
What's behind the Oppo Watch X?
This watch stands out for the presence of two different chips. A combination that should help it offer long battery life, and which Oppo combines with an OLED screen, dual-band GPS, and a 500 mAh battery. Available for a few months, the Oppo Watch X is officially priced at 329.90 euros.

Summary
We like
Its design and build quality
The Oppo Watch X impresses at first glance with its integrated stainless steel case, meticulously polished in 178 steps (!) for a look inspired by aesthetics watchmaker. Available in Martian Brown and Platinum Black with fluororubber straps, it adapts to different styles. Its robustness is MIL-STD-810H certified, guaranteeing its resistance to extreme conditions, and it is waterproof up to 50 meters (5ATM) with an IP68 certification for dust and water resistance.
While some may prefer square designs, the Oppo Watch X's round dial is pleasant and gives a neat and elegant appearance. Two side buttons are present for ease of use while the watch is relatively discreet with its weight of approximately 80g (approximately 50g without the strap). The size of the case, 47 mm, is however imposing and can bother some users, especially during sports.
Its screen
The 1.43-inch AMOLED screen, with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels (326 ppi) and a maximum brightness of 1000 nits, offers an efficient and bright display, protected by a 2.5D sapphire crystal, known for its hardness and scratch resistance. The colors are vivid and the features ensure the display is always clear and legible, even in direct sunlight.
The watch features an Always-on-Display (AOD) feature, allowing you to quickly check the time and other useful information. Oppo offers a wide variety of watch faces to customize the Watch X to your preferences, ranging from luxurious and classic designs to sportier displays.
Its dual chip
The Oppo Watch X features a powerful dual-chip architecture, combining a 4nm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor for smartphone-like performance and a more power-efficient BES2700 coprocessor. This configuration allows you to switch between the two chipsets as needed, optimizing battery life without sacrificing fluidity. It also features 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, providing ample space for apps and data.
Its operating system
The Oppo Watch X runs on Wear OS by Google, providing direct access to a vast catalog of apps via the Google Play Store. The integration of Google services such as Google Assistant for voice commands, Google Wallet for contactless payments via NFC, and Google Maps for navigation enriches the user experience. Notification management is efficient, and it is possible to reply to messages and make calls directly from the watch via Bluetooth.
Choosing Wear OS remains a significant advantage for enjoying a feature-rich platform. Additionally, the dual-app approach, with Google's OS and OHealth, ensures a relatively comprehensive experience.
Its battery life
The Oppo Watch X is very comfortable in this area thanks to its 500mAh battery and its power management optimized by the dual chip. It can reach up to 100 hours of use in standard smart mode, around 48 hours in intensive use, and up to 12 days in power saving mode, while maintaining access to essential functions. The manufacturer's promise is true and we obtained around 4 days of battery life throughout our test, with a fairly regular loss of endurance. The watch lost about 25% of its battery life every day.
VOOC Watch Flash Charging technology allows you to recover a day's battery life in just 10 minutes of charging. A full charge takes about 60 minutes, or even a little less.
We like less
Its limited sensors
While it offers continuous heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitoring, as well as detailed sleep tracking including snoring risk analysis, the Oppo Watch X lacks more advanced health sensors such as an ECG for atrial fibrillation detection or a fall detection function, which are present on some competing watches.
Its application to approximate translation
The OHealth companion app, required to pair the watch and access more detailed health and activity data, contains sometimes approximate translations into French. While this doesn't prevent usability, a better translation would improve the user experience.
Who are the Oppo Watch X's competitors?
Among the potential competitors, we can obviously cite the Apple Watch SE, which remains a benchmark in the world of smartwatches. For Android users, the Oppo Watch X is in direct competition with the Samsung Galaxy Watch7, the Google Pixel Watch 2, and the Huawei GT5 Pro.
