Thankfully, we're no longer in 2020, when it was virtually impossible to find a Switch (or a PS5, or an Xbox Series X), even if you paid the price. Production lines have returned to normal, and Nintendo has had time to get them running at full capacity to fill warehouses with Switch 2.
Switch 2 pre-orders go live on April 8th
These precautions may, however, be insufficient to meet demand. Nintendo's new console is highly anticipated, because after all, the current generation dates back to 2017! And the new games presented by the manufacturer, notably this Mario Kart, inevitably make you want to get your hands on the device right away, despite a price that many will consider steep.
To ensure you receive the Switch 2 on the first day of its release, it is wiser to pre-order the console. For the occasion, Nintendo is organizing a sort of lottery to "reward the most dedicated players" who will receive an invitation.
The conditions for pre-orders are crazy. You must have an uninterrupted Switch Online subscription for at least two years as of March 31st (!) and an active subscription on the day of the pre-order. The customer must also have spent "a certain amount of time" playing Switch games, accepted the sharing of data with Nintendo and also have agreed to receive promotional emails and messages from Nintendo.
These conditions do not give hope for the opening of pre-orders on April 8th at official retailers such as the Fnac, Boulanger and Amazon.
