La Monnaie de Paris is launching a series of coins in collaboration with DC Comics

The Monnaie de Paris, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, is launching a unique collection of coins featuring the iconic heroes and villains of the DC Comics universe.

This initiative, available in several waves starting March 31 and then June 16, combines numismatic art and pop culture with meticulously engraved gold and silver coins, sometimes colored, representing the most legendary figures from American comics. From Superman to Harley Quinn, including The Flash, Cheetah, and the Joker, each character is immortalized in precious metal thanks to the expertise of French artisans.

«Our artisans have concentrated all their superpowers to create these superb coins,” enthuses Marc Schwartz, Chairman and CEO of the Monnaie de Paris. And for good reason: the level of detail of the engravings and the chromatic richness of certain coins pay homage to the graphic universe of DC.

The collection is available in several denominations:

  • 10 euro silver coins, available in classic (13 euro) or colored (15 euro) versions, sold at 75,000 copies each.
  • Editions of 50 euro colored silver, a tribute to the golden age of comics, at 62 euro each.
  • An exceptional 100 euro colored silver coin, issued for the first time, featuring the entire Justice League.
  • And for the most passionate collectors: solid gold coins of 250 euro and 500 euro, at face value, in a very limited edition.

A collector's album, sold for €7.50, accompanies the series of 10 euro silver coins, allowing the 18 models to be preserved in a case inspired by legendary comic book covers.

This collection is part of the ongoing cultural collaborations led by the Monnaie de Paris, which for more than a millennium has combined heritage and innovation. "Each coin captures the essence of these legends, combining art, technique and an immense pride in transmitting their magic to across generations," emphasizes Joaquin Jimenez, General Super Engraver.

Available at the establishment's boutique in Paris, on the official website monnaiedeparis.fr and in certain post offices, these coins will appeal to both superhero fans and monetary art enthusiasts.
