Garmin Vivoactive 6: Is your next smartwatch here?

Garmin Vivoactive 6: Is your next smartwatch here?

After two years of waiting, Garmin Vivoactive watch users can finally turn to another model. The 6th version of this series has just been presented. In the press release accompanying this release, the American firm speaks of a watch designed to "better understand your body."

Unlike Garmin's very sporty brand image, the Vivoactive models are distinguished by a rather health-oriented approach. This 6th generation is no exception. No big black dial full of buttons. Here we have the right to a colorful product, available in four different colors ranging from classic white and black to the addition of pink and a "fir green" version.

Garmin Vivoactive 6: the watch for everyone

Behind this pretty appearance, the watch does not forget its DNA. It can monitor all the classic health data, heart rate, sleep tracking, and much more. Available for just €329.99, it's a great entry point into the company's world.

Ultimately, this watch is perhaps Garmin's most useful. It doesn't cater to a specific type of athlete, but it's aimed at the average person who cares about their health. As Susan Lyman, vice president of marketing and sales, explains: the vivoactive was designed for everyone, "no matter your goals."It's there to "help you better understand your body," she says.

Technical side

This consumer aspect doesn't prevent the watch from having advanced features. There are sensors for monitoring heart rate, of course, but also heart rate variability (HRV). A long-term fitness indicator.

By looking at the technical specifications of this watch, we quickly understand the philosophy of this Vivoactive 6. It can measure stress levels, gives us a "body Battery" an energy score every morning based on the quality of our sleep, our activity the day before, and a cocktail of other data collected throughout the day.

On the sports side, more than 80 activities are recorded in the watch. They will be easily consultable thanks to the AMOLED screen announced even brighter than the previous generation. As for battery life, Garmin announces 11 days of "typical" operation. We should know more about this in a few weeks with the first user feedback.

Price and availability

As we mentioned above, the Garmin Vivoactive 6 is marketed at a price of 329.99 euros. It is available in 4 different colors. It can be purchased today on the Garmin website.
