Civilization 7 makes the announcement that we had all seen coming

It was highly anticipated by fans, yet its launch was chaotic. Civilization 7 has been trying to catch up for several weeks now. Patches are coming one after the other to fix problems and try to restore its image. But this isn't the only attempt to please players. Some rather good news came just yesterday. It should at least delight some.

Civilization 7 part en conquéte

Despite its undeniable qualities, Civilization 7 suffers from optimization that really leaves something to be desired. desire. Fortunately, the development teams are on the job. At the end of March, the strategy game finally moved to version 1.1.1. Available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, it brings welcome additions to improve the experience. That said, Firaxis Games isn't just working on updates for its latest baby!

Yesterday, the studio's executive producer, Dennis Shirk, made a notable appearance at the big conference at the beginning of the month: the new Nintendo Direct. As you can see, he was there to announce the release of Civilization 7 on Nintendo Switch 2! The game will even be available at the console's release on June 5, 2025.

For the occasion, Civilization 7 will benefit from a "Nintendo Switch Edition 2". Unlike the free optimization patches, this is a more complete version. It will therefore be entitled to better graphics with this more advanced port. That said, the most interesting thing is on the functionality side. The game will thus support the new Joy-Con which can be used like a computer mouse. This will ensure a gaming comfort much more suited to this type of production.

Also, note that if you already own Civilization 7 on the first Switch, you will be able to proceed with a paid upgrade on the new console. The price of this type of upgrade has not yet been specified by Nintendo. If the manufacturer applies the same PlayStation logic to the PS5 in its early days, we could be looking at an additional cost of "only" 10 euros. But this is just a hypothesis. Let's wait for the manufacturer's final confirmation.
