Ubisoft's favorite franchise has been in the spotlight since the announcement of Assassin's Creed Shadows. Despite all the hype surrounding the game, it's been a success. At the same time, Ubisoft had to make a radical decision to completely overhaul its development strategy, and one of the first franchises to be impacted was Assassin's Creed. It should now be much more at ease and evolve with greater ease and resources. A few days before these major changes, one of the most ambitious projects resurfaces and reveals a big announcement soon.
One of the most ambitious Assassin's Creed projects gives news again
It is in the columns of Game File, shared by Eurogamer, that we learn that the collaboration between Netflix and Assassin's Creed is about to finally give something. After an initial failure in 2017, the streaming giant and Ubisoft's successful franchise have announced a live-action series in 2020. Since then, there hasn't been much news, so much so that we could have thought it was dead and buried. However, according to Alain Tascan, head of the video game branch at Netflix, the project is indeed in "active" development.
Perhaps this Assassin's Creed series will give us additional information during major upcoming events like the Summer Game Fest or the next edition of Netflix Geeked Week. Either way, something is definitely in the works and an announcement shouldn't be too far off, unless plans change along the way. And when you know Netflix and Ubisoft, you say to yourself that everything is still possible.
