The least we can say is that the deployment of Windows 11 24H2, initiated by Microsoft last October, has been quite chaotic. From the first days of its deployment, this major update to Windows 11, despite being tested for several months by Insiders, has given Microsoft a hard time. A veritable festival of bugs, Windows 11 24H2 has, in turn (and in no particular order), caused problems with File Explorer, bugged the update cache, update, derails the Task Manager and has put many Dell and ASUS PC users in trouble.
The 24H2 update, now being forcibly deployed to users by Microsoft, cannot yet be installed on a number of them. The cause is a nasty audio bug that Microsoft has still not managed to correct.
Microsoft continues to block 24H2 because of a bug dating back to December
A few months ago, last December to be precise, Microsoft had put the deployment of its update on hold 24H2 update for users whose PCs were running the Dirac Audio audio processing software. This software was preventing any sound from coming out of the machines' built-in speakers, as well as any Bluetooth speakers and headsets connected to them.
The bug, listed on a page dedicated to problems encountered with the 24H2 update, has apparently still not been resolved. And it's not Microsoft's fault.
Unfortunately for the Redmond company, it seems that the publisher of the driver has not yet addressed the problem. On the Windows 11 24H2 known issues page, the bug is still referenced. under the status «Confirmé».
