Unemployment, sick leave, RSA ... Here is everything that changes on April 1, 2025

Time change

The change to summer time will take place on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 2 a.m. Clocks will be set forward one hour, going directly from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. This change, which marks the start of the summer period, will allow for longer days in the evening.

Increase in social assistance

From April 1, 2025, several social assistance benefits will be increased from 1.7% to 1.9% to keep up with inflation. The Active Solidarity Income (RSA) will increase to €647.79 per month for a single person, an increase of €12.08. The Disabled Adult Allowance (AAH) will reach €1,034.34, an increase of €18.29. The activity bonus will also be revised upwards, rising to €633.84. These increases are intended to support the purchasing power of the most vulnerable people in the face of the rising cost of living. Sick Leave

The announcement was expected last month, and is now official for civil servants. Civil servants will see their allowance decrease during their sick leave. Instead of being paid 100% during the first three months of their sick leave, they will now only receive 90% of their salary. According to figures from Unsa Fonction Publique, one month of shutdown will result in a net loss of €235.

Tax changes

Several tax changes will come into effect in April 2025. A new income tax scale will be introduced, as well as a new tax for high incomes.
