In less than two weeks, The Last of Us will once again be on everyone's lips. With the first season of its adaptation, HBO had hit hard. The craze was such that the games themselves had benefited from this new enthusiasm around the license. This year, Naughty Dog and Sony have better prepared themselves to welcome newcomers to discover the continuation of Joel and Ellie's adventures. TLOU 2 Remastered will arrive in a refined version on PC, while PS5 players will also be able to enjoy some new features for the "No Return" mode, the frankly pleasant rogue-lite. They apparently have another surprise up their sleeve, but it won't be cheap.
A new special edition for The Last of Us is coming
When a success is undeniable like the TLOU series, it's hard to stop yourself from capitalizing on it. PlayStation knows this only too well, the next episodes will once again give players a furious desire to return to the post-apocalyptic universe of the license. In addition to the PC version of TLOU2 Remastered and the update that will also be available on PC, it seems that a compilation is also planned. This is in any case what Billbil-Kun's discovery suggests. The French dataminer claims that a new special edition of The Last of Us is about to be released.
It will be a physical version sold for the modest sum of 119.99 euros here and $109.99 in America. For comparison, it would therefore be more expensive than the WLF Edition of The Last of Us 2 Remastered. The dataminer, however, has no other information about this new potential upcoming collector's edition, other than that it is linked to the video game and that it concerns at least the PS5. We can therefore only speculate on its contents, but a pack bringing together TLOU Part 1 and the remaster of the second part seems quite appropriate.
However, we shouldn't have to wait long before discovering its nature. According to his information, the officialization of this special edition and the opening of its pre-orders should take place within the next two months. Our little finger tells us that we will have to wait at least until season 2 of The Last of Us begins before PlayStation communicates about it. Given the success of the controller, they would be wrong to deprive themselves of it.
