Renault has finally revealed the prices of the different versions of its R4 e-Tech, the electric version of its legendary vehicle. As expected, the city car has been transformed into a family SUV.

After its official presentation at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, Renault has finally revealed the prices of the R4 e-Tech, the electric version of its famous 4L. As announced, the diamond brand has abandoned the traditional and iconic format of the 4L by opting this time for a compact SUV.

Nothing surprising in itself, the R5 e-Tech already occupies the place of small watted city car in the manufacturer's range. In the idea, this R4 e-Tech will thereforeestablish itself as the electric equivalent of the Captur. Unsurprisingly, the two Rs share many elements, starting with the same technical base, and a similar offer on engines and batteries (with the exception of the version boosted to 95 hp).

Two versions for the R4 e-Tech

So, we start with a first version equipped with a wound rotor electric motor of 90 kW (120 hp and 225 Nm) combined with a 40 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery, for a range of 308 km in the WLTP combined cycle. As for the higher versions, they will rely on a combo composed of a 110 kW electric motor (150 hp and 245 Nm) and a 52 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery. The estimated range is 409 km in the WLTP combined cycle.

Note that in both cases, the R4 e-Tech comes with a AC 11 kW bidirectional charger as standard. Thanks to this technology, the car therefore benefits from the “Power to Object” function to connect a 220V device to the car battery, but also from V2G (Vehicle To Grid) to reinject electricity into the network. Regarding charging, the capacities are identical to those of the R5:

  • AC 11 kW charging: 15 to 80% in 3h13 on the 52 kWh battery, 2h37 on the 40 kWh battery
  • Fast charging: 80 kW on the 120 hp and 100 kW on the 150 hp (15 to 80% in just 30 minutes)
