Hinomi X1 test: the ultimate gaming seat for your back

The Hinomi X1 is an ergonomic chair that combines style, comfort, and functionality. Far from the sporty gaming chairs inspired by racing car seats, it offers a more understated approach focused on well-being. With its advanced ergonomic support, it's perfect for those who spend long hours at their desk, whether working or playing. The Hinomi X1 rests on a sturdy aluminum frame, capable of supporting up to 150 kg. It's available in black, gray, and pink, and comes in three sizes to suit every user. The small size is suitable for people between 1.55 m and 1.68 m, the medium size up to 1.85 m, and the large size up to 2 m. It was this last model that we chose, your servant being 1m90 tall and suffering from a herniated disc, it was the most suitable model...

Hinomi wants to help your back

Back and posture problems affect more and more people who spend their days sitting in front of a computer. This prolonged position puts pressure on the spine, shoulders and neck, leading to chronic pain, muscle tension and sometimes even musculoskeletal disorders. Without adequate support, posture tends to deteriorate. This is where an ergonomic chair like the X1 plays an essential role. Designed to adapt to the user's body shape, it offers multiple adjustments for personalized support. But before you can enjoy it, you still have to assemble it...

The crucial assembly step

Upon opening the box, Hinomi shows impressive attention to every detail. The chair is packaged in a sturdy cardboard box, with multiple layers of protective foam, ensuring that every component arrives in perfect condition. White gloves for assembly and tools are even included, adding a nice touch of thoughtfulness. Assembly is quick and easy. The base is already assembled; all you have to do is attach the casters and insert the jack. The armrests are already attached to the seat, and the backrest is also pre-assembled. In just a few dozen minutes, the chair is ready, without any hassle. The parts are well organized and clearly identifiable, avoiding any assembly errors. This guarantees a frustration-free experience and allows you to quickly enjoy the comfort of the chair. The instructions, simply enormous (see photos), leave no room for error.

A design that hits the mark with the Hinomi X1

Once assembled, the Hinomi X1 sports a design that fits well into an office. Its aluminum structure and 33 kg give it impressive solidity. The X1 stands out with its three-part backrest, each dedicated to specific spinal support: cervical, thoracic, and lumbar. Each section is height-adjustable, allowing for fine customization to suit individual needs. The two-part lumbar support provides firm, stable support that won't flatten over time, unlike traditional upholstered chairs. The result? Support that's as effective on the first day as it is after years of use. At least, that's the manufacturer's promise. Unfortunately, the latter point is currently unverifiable, as you might expect.

Perfect for Winter and Summer

Thanks to its mesh backrest and the ventilated design of its lumbar support, the Hinomi X1 is highly breathable. It's perfect for long hours of work or play, avoiding the discomfort of full backrests that can become stuffy on hot days. We've all experienced the very unpleasant faux leather of some models, which becomes unbearable as soon as the temperature exceeds 25 degrees. With this model from Hinomi, that's simply ancient history. With the X1, you can relax against the backrest without fear of the heat, letting the chair do its job of support. It doesn't matter what fabric you wear.

Ultra-adjustable armrests and a practical legrest

The X1's armrests are among the most adjustable on the market. Height, depth, width, and rotation up to 270° are all available. But an unexpected bonus is the ability to tilt the front of the armrest 30° upwards, providing perfect support for relaxed positions, such as when using your phone. A pleasant surprise for those who like to change their posture. Beneath the seat, the chair also hides a legrest that easily deploys. Although it only supports the calves, it's still a welcome addition for stretching out a little more comfortably. After use, it folds discreetly away without getting in the way. This is truly the ideal option for those who like to be able to watch a movie in peace in front of the PC (or elsewhere).

The swivel headrest is easy on the neck, with a tilt of up to 45° and an adjustable height of 4 cm. The backrest can tilt up to 135° with a locking mechanism, providing a smooth transition between positions.

Ubiquitous comfort with this Hinomi X1

The 50 cm wide mesh seat offers a good compromise between firmness and flexibility, ensuring comfortable seating for long periods. After a period of adaptation, you will discover a set of adjustments allowing for personalized support. The backrest offers two distinct adjustments: a top support plate that moves vertically, and lumbar support that is adjustable in height and tension. The latter is rare in office chairs, and it provides precise back support for extended sessions.

The Hinomi X1 chair is a true cocoon of comfort, designed to provide optimal support for hours. As soon as you sit down, you immediately feel the difference: the firm, tightly stretched mesh seat fits perfectly, providing comfortable support that won't deform, even after long sessions. Its multi-part backrest adapts to the natural curves of the back, particularly in the lumbar region, where support is adjustable to meet the needs of each user. Whether working or relaxing, the Hinomi X1 provides consistent comfort that eliminates tension and allows you to sit without fatigue. For the moment, it's hard to find a negative point other than its price. Currently at 749 euros (on sale) and originally at 999 euros.
