On December 5, 2023, Rockstar Games (finally) unveiled GTA 6 with a first trailer that broke all records. Unfortunately, since this announcement, fans have been waiting for a new communication from the star-studded firm. It's been more than 15 months since we've had the slightest information, even though the game is still scheduled for release this fall.
During a recent interview, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take Two Interactive, confirmed that the lack of information and communication was normal, as Rockstar was going to wait until the last moment and the release window relatively close to begin this phase.
GTA6: a short communication phase?
During an interview with Bloomberg, Strauss Zelnick confirmed that the lack of communication around GTA 6 was the result of a new strategy. According to the CEO of Take Two Interactive, Rockstar will wait until the last moment and a period relatively close to the game's release to begin the sales and marketing campaign for the game:
Strauss Zelnick therefore confirms that following the excessive anticipation of the game, and according to their latest findings, it is preferable to wait until the last moment, when Rockstar will be sure of the game's release to begin the communication and marketing campaign. This does not confirm, however, that GTA 6 will arrive in the fall of 2025, since on this point, Strauss Zelnick dodged the question.
The CEO of Take Two simply confirms that the communication period for GTA6 will be relatively short and probably quite intense. Now, it remains to be seen whether this phase will be for the end of 2025 or in 2026.
