That's what you call changing your mind like a shirt. Samsung is reportedly considering integrating Exynos chips into its high-end smartphones again, the Galaxy S26 for part of the market. The Korean brand changes its mind with each generation: disappearance of Exynos on the Galaxy S25 and S23, integration into part of the range on the Galaxy S24 and on the entire of the range on the Galaxy S22.
According to a relatively unknown leaker working on X.com, Jukanlosreve, some of the Galaxy S26 would therefore integrate an Exynos 2600 chip. The chip volume would be limited, which would suggest that most markets in the world would be entitled to a version with a Snapdragon chip, reputed to be of better quality. So there is hope that Europe will not be affected, but in recent years, when Samsung reintegrated Exynos chips, Europe was systematically affected.
Why is Samsung so insistent?
The subject of Exynos chips is definitely the ultimate chestnut at Samsung. The manufacturer is determined not to let go of the matter of its internally designed and manufactured chips, because the stakes behind such a decision are enormous. Producing your own chips generates significant savings and places the Korean giant in a strategic sector.
That being said, on the user side, Exynos chips have built a bad reputation. Not always deserved, moreover. We recently tested the Galaxy A56, and its Exynos 1580 chip outperforms most of its competitors. The benchmarks carried out on the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus weren't bad either. On the other hand, the Galaxy S22 wasn't a great success, it's true.
The best choice for the Korean firm would undoubtedly be to split its range in two. It could grant demanding S26 Ultra users a Snapdragon chip, while those interested in a less high-end model would certainly accept an Exynos chip willingly.
For now, it's still a little early to decide on this matter. The source from which the information comes is not very reputable and the Galaxy S26 is expected for the beginning of 2026. They therefore still have many months of development left and a decision can be made in either direction.
