ASUS ROG DELTA II test: a helmet without any false note

From the moment you open the box, the ASUS ROG Delta II impresses with its elegance. The black and red packaging, ASUS ROG's signature, highlights an image of the product and its main features. Inside, the headset sits majestically atop, accompanied by neatly arranged accessories.

A beautiful design for this ASUS headset

The ASUS ROG Delta II doesn't just focus on performance. Its design blends robustness and comfort. It is both luxurious and subtle. The headband, covered in breathable material, offers excellent comfort, while the D-shaped ear cups perfectly fit the natural shape of the ear to reduce pressure. The PU leather earpads, with their striped patterns, add a touch of elegance, while the fabric earpads, while less visually sophisticated, offer better ventilation for long sessions.

Very comfortable

The headset comes with two types of earpads to suit your preferences. This small detail makes all the difference, especially for gamers who spend hours in front of their screen.

The ASUS ROG Delta II's earcups adopt an ergonomic D-shape, designed to fit the natural shape of the ear. This choice reduces unnecessary contact points, while providing a more comfortable and precise fit. They are spacious enough to completely enclose the ears, which improves sound isolation and limits pressure during long gaming sessions. Compared to traditional circular earbuds, the D-shaped ones offer a significantly more comfortable experience.

Ergonomic Controls

The ASUS ROG Delta II's controls are distributed between the two earbuds. The left earbud includes a volume dial dedicated to the 2.4 GHz connection, as well as a multi-function button for managing settings. On the right earbud, you will find the controls for the Bluetooth connection, including a volume dial and a button for pairing or managing connected devices. These controls are easy to spot without looking, a major advantage during gameplay.

Multiple Connections

In fact, the ASUS ROG Delta II stands out for its ability to connect in three different ways. First, it has a classic 3.5 mm jack for universal compatibility. Then, it offers two wireless options: Bluetooth for mobile flexibility and a 2.4 GHz dongle connection, equipped with ROG SpeedNova technology for ultra-low latency.

Thanks to these multiple options, this headset adapts to a wide variety of devices, from consoles to PCs to smartphones. As a bonus, the DualFlow Audio feature allows you to connect two devices simultaneously – one via Bluetooth, the other via 2.4 GHz – and listen to audio from both sources at the same time. Each earpiece is equipped with its own volume dial to independently manage the two connections.

Very balanced sound

Right out of the box and without any adjustments, the ASUS ROG Delta II offers a balanced sound experience. The bass, mids, and treble are well defined thanks to the 50 mm titanium drivers. Whether listening to music, watching a movie, or playing games, the headset adapts well to each scenario. In games, especially on titles like Hunt Showdown or Black Ops 6, it stands out for its ability to reproduce crucial sonic details, although a little extra depth is sometimes desirable. In Bluetooth mode, the sound quality is slightly lower than with the 2.4 GHz connection. However, it is still acceptable for everyday use.

Good communication from ASUS

The Delta II's detachable microphone outperforms many competing models. Voice recordings are natural and clear, perfect for in-game communications or calls. Built-in noise reduction effectively eliminates unwanted sounds, improving the experience for those on the other end of the spectrum. And in the worst-case scenario, you always have the option to fine-tune the headset.

Indeed, ASUS's Armoury Crate software takes the Delta II's customization to the next level. The audio settings offer a wide variety of adjustments, with comprehensive equalization, compression options, bass adjustment, and preset profiles for different uses (music, FPS, etc.). These profiles allow you to quickly optimize the sound according to your preferences or the current activity.

The microphone also benefits from advanced tuning options. You can enable noise cancellation, adjust voice clarity with the Perfect Voice feature, and manage echo and background noise cancellation on multiple levels. These features ensure clear and crisp communications, whether in-game or on calls. Finally, on the aesthetic side, the software allows you to customize the headset's RGB lighting, with effects ranging from static to rainbow mode.

And the battery life?

The ASUS ROG Delta II's battery is impressive. In 2.4 GHz mode with RGB lighting activated at 50%, the headset consumes around 1% per hour, suggesting a real-world battery life close to 100 hours. In Bluetooth mode, consumption drops to 3% per hour, and in DualFlow mode, it reaches 6%. A full charge takes less than two hours, which is remarkable for such a long battery life.
