A few days ago, Ubisoft successfully released the new major installment in the Assassin's Creed saga with Shadows and its journey to feudal Japan alongside Yasuke and Naoe. This is the first main game in the saga since the release of Assassin's Creed Valhalla in 2020. Assassin's Creed Mirage in 2023 allowed us to discover a spin-off that was supposed to be, Basically, a DLC for Valhalla.
Today, we learned through insiders that the French publisher plans to release many projects such as remakes, remasters, and side projects while waiting for the release of Assassin's Creed Hexe, the next installment in the franchise, which will arrive in the coming years.
Many Assassin's Creed projects in the works
For several months now, we have known that Ubisoft has been preparing several secondary projects with numerous remakes and remastered versions of their cult games: Splinter Cell Remake, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake and Rayman Remake are reportedly on the agenda. In addition to this, Ubisoft is preparing several side projects for the Assassin's Creed saga, including a remake of the fourth installment (Black Flag), as well as a remake of the very first installment in the series (released in 2007). For his part, insider Tom Henderson on Twitter/X has just confirmed that the remake of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag should be released before Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe, the next major installment in the series. Still according to Tom Henderson, the multiplayer project, Assassin’s Creed Invictus would also be expected before the release of Codename Hexe. According to Ubisoft’s plans, Codename Hexe could be released in 2027, at best.
For his part, insider RinoTheBouncer confirms that Assassin’s Creed Hexe will be the next major opus, which should take place in Central Europe during the 16th century. It should be much darker than the other installments in the saga and could plunge us into a witch hunt with a slight survival-horror orientation. Apparently, the game would be more linear than the previous games and should feature a heroine named Elsa. The game should allow players to have supernatural abilities.
In addition to remakes and remasters, Ubisoft seems to be preparing additional content for the spin-off Assassin's Creed Mirage. According to the latest rumors, an agreement has been reached with Saudi Arabia for the financing of a DLC.
