Samsung is introducing a small improvement that could come as a relief to many Galaxy smartphone users. With One UI 7, it is now possible to disable the option that automatically reduces the screen brightness when the battery is very low.
Samsung finally lets you control the brightness in low battery mode
Until now, when the battery of a Galaxy smartphone reached 5%, the device would automatically reduce the screen brightness to save energy. While this feature can be useful, it was imposed on users with no way to disable it.
With One UI 7, Samsung is adding an option in the settings that finally lets you take back control of this behavior. To access it, simply go to Settings > Battery, where a new option called "Auto-reduction. screen brightness" is now present. By disabling this setting, the smartphone will no longer automatically reduce the brightness when the battery reaches the critical threshold of 5%.
An update limited to certain models (for now)
This new feature is part of One UI 7, Samsung's latest software interface based on Android 15. For now, only the Galaxy S25 and S24 benefit from this option, but the update should be deployed to other models in the coming weeks.
The addition of this setting shows that Samsung is taking into account feedback from users who want more control over their device. This update may seem minor, but it addresses a common frustration, making Galaxy smartphones more customizable and less restrictive on a daily basis. At 5% battery, we still advise you to recharge it quickly…
