There is always a lack of space on a laptop, even on the largest ones. To solve this squaring of the circle, Lenovo has a solution: a roll-up screen. This is the main, surprising feature of the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable, whose 14-inch screen unfolds upwards to display a total surface area of 16.7 inches.
2.7 inches that make the difference
Just press a key or wave your hand in front of the computer's camera to gain almost 50% more space. It is also a possible solution to avoid neck pain, with such a screen that goes up, your entire posture improves! According to Lenovo, the screen can be rolled up and down 30,000 times without any problems.
On the other hand, the roll-up screen and its mechanism necessarily thicken the ThinkBook a little, which, when closed, measures almost 2 cm thick compared to 1.54 mm for a 16-inch MacBook Pro. It’s not as big as a gaming laptop, though.
The specs of this Thinkbook include, in addition to its OLED screen (400 nits brightness), up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, a 65Whr battery, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a headphone jack, support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. It can be equipped with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 chip, all for a weight of 1.69 kg.
The laptop, which has been in development since at least 2023, will be marketed in the second quarter, starting at $3,499.
