Asus Zenbook 14 formalized: less than 1kg for this ultrabook under snapdragon

We really liked the Zenbook 14 under Intel Lunar Lake, here is an even more compact and lighter version that Asus pulls out of its hat, the Asus Zenbook A14. And yes, the A is clearly a reference to the MacBook Air. In France, however, it will be marketed under the name Zenbook 14 (UX3407).

990 g, this is the weight on the scale that the Taiwanese has managed to obtain. To do this, it was necessary to rework once again the material dear to the Zenbook range, the famous Ceraluminium, a reworked aluminum to get closer to the resistance of ceramic, while keeping the lightness of aluminum.

Advanced material work to obtain this lightness

We were able to take this PC before its official presentation. This new version of Ceraluminium adopts a less rough touch than the previous one, partly abandoning the metal impression to get closer to something of the order of resin. Rather successful, it seemed to us not to catch fingerprints too much.

To save even more weight, this time Asus has integrated its material absolutely everywhere on the PC. A search for weight savings that is then found under the hood, with the integration of a motherboard made in a PCB usually used for smartphones and therefore lighter. The same goes for the heat sink and the fans, which were chosen to reinforce the lightness.

Small detail on the colors, these are not pigments added after the fact, but the color of the aluminum more or less heated and therefore more or less oxidized. We have two colors, a gray and a beige.

The three Snapdragons together

If we have started to reveal what is inside the PC, we still have to approach the heart of the machine and we will therefore find the complete range of Snapdragon X, with the new entry-level model, X tout court, accompanied by X Plus or X Elite depending on the price list that suits you. Concerning the TDP, it can go up to 45 W in the elite version.

All this is powered by a 70 Wh battery, which makes Asus promise 32 hours of autonomy in video.

The screen is therefore a 14 inch, either OLED or IPS, in FHD + (1920 x 1200, or a 16:10 ratio). In terms of connectivity, it includes a USB-A port, two USB-C ports, an HDMI port and a micro-jack port.

Price and availability of the Asus Zenbook 14

The Zenbook 14 will be available from February 2025 for 999 euros.
