Apple is launching a new invitation creation and management app

Housewarming, birthday party, barbecue, football match… There are plenty of opportunities to get together with friends and family, but the chore of making and managing invitations can sometimes be a drag. Apple offers a new solution in the form of an iPhone app, simply called Apple Invitations.

Paid invitations

This app, which appeared in the rumor mill earlier this week under the name "Confetti", allows, as its name clearly indicates, to create invitation cards from existing photos, ready-made templates, or even Image Playground, the image generation app from Apple Intelligence (it will be available in April in France).

You can give a title, set a date and time, enter a description and the location of the feast, add a photo album that will be shared between all participants, as well as an Apple Music playlist (which requires a subscription). The invitation also includes a map to get to the venue, as well as the weather. It is possible to use a response system (RSVP) so that guests can confirm their presence at the event, or decline.

The invitation can be shared via the Messages app, an email, or simply a link to paste into a messaging service. Apple Invitations is not very sophisticated and its uses are limited, but the app does what it has to do rather well, in a fun and easy-to-understand interface. To take advantage of it, you will need an iPhone running iOS 18… as well as an iCloud+ subscription to be able to create invitations (guests can respond to them without being a member of the paid service).
